1. Start by placing your Eagle Z1 on a flat surface with back pad facing up. Unclip the large waist band cinch strap buckle and open the Velcro waist panel. Then detach both shoulder quick release buckles and fold the shoulder straps up and out of you way as shown in picture #1.

2. Separate the back pad Velcro retainer from the harness to release back pad by pulling it down. You can also install the optional stainless back plate for additional ballast and balance if desired. 

3. You can completely remove the back pad from the harness by pulling up on the Velcro back pad to get easy access to the waist adjustment. Then slide both of the waist panels out from the 4 webbing retainers that hold the waist panels to the harness.

4. By just separating the Velcro fold over flap. Both the left and right sides of the waist panel can be adjusted up to 9 inches each. Adjust both waist panels equal distance from the elastic compensator device so the zipper accessory pocket is in the center of the waist panel when you wear it.

5. You can slide the waist panel back and forth on both sides of the BCD depth compensating retainer allowing a total of 18.0 inches of waist adjustment. This allows the diver to easily switch between a lightweight warm water wetsuit to a heavy cold water wet or drysuit in only a couple of minutes.

6. Now fold over the waist band end flaps to lock them in place to the elastic depth compensator.

7. Then just slide the waste panels band back into the 4 vertical webbing retainers that hold the waist panels to the harness assembly. Just complete steps 3 & 2 & 1 after the adjustment are complete to re-assemble the BCD.
