Thanks for Choosing the Eagle Z1
Please have your authorized Eagle Z1 dealer familiarize you with the operation and care of your new Eagle Z1 BCD. Please take the time to read your owners manual. If you have any questions, contact your Eagle Z1 dealer BEFORE using this device. SCUBA Diving is an extremely enjoyable pastime when done with proper training, good equipment, and knowledge of both your equipment and your diving environment. Be sure that you and your dive partner have current certifications and follow all recommendations of your certifying agency and that all equipment is used and maintained according to the manufacturers recommendations. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in serious injury or death.
This Eagle Buoyancy Control System is intended for use only by individuals practicing safe diving principles. This device is NOT a life preserver and will NOT hold an unconscious diver in an upright position. It should only be used as a buoyancy compensator. The standard Z1 & Z1-F is designed for single cylinder use only. The Z1 is unique because the weight belt no longer pulls you down, nor does the BC pull you up, all of these forces are cancelled out. It is the ONLY BCD designed around all three axis of the human body, that can be custom fitted to the user. Because of this superior balance, the typical 15 degree nose up swimming position is reduced to almost horizontal, with MUCH lower drag and air consumption when this buoyancy device is used properly.

Excerpt from July 2005 issue of Scuba Diving Magazine, pg 80-81. > The Verdict: A conventional soft-pack BC when you want to do some fun diving, but can be modified for some more serious single- or double-tank diving by adding a back plate is a special sleeve located behind the back pad. Then just weave in some single-tank bands or bolt on some doubles and you're good to go. A well-put-together rig that provides excellent comfort and stability at depth. It has contoured shoulder pads that route straps underneath the arms. There are a number of adjustments to maximize fit, and the two-inch webbing over the cummerbund provides additional stability and security when using a plate. And all this is accomplished with surprising simplicity, a term not always used when describing dual-use systems. The air cell offers 60 pounds of lift, and while it isn't interchangeable, it has elastic straps to keep it from flapping around when deflated. There are 10 stainless-steel D-rings, two pre-bent, for clipping on stage bottles and other gear. The weight-ditch system can hold up to 24 pounds, and has a zippered top-load opening and Velcro-secured flaps for ditching out the bottom. Simply hook your thumbs in the tube handles and yank down - it couldn't be easier. The rig also comes with trim weight pouches that can be threaded onto the tank bands.
