Now that you have completed all your advanced training, perhaps your ready to spend the big bucks for your professional gear for tech, wreck, public safety, or cave. The short version of your check list includes your high capacity twin steel cylinders, stainless back  plate &  bands, duel isolator manifold, and duel primary regulators, primary multi-mix and back-up computer, primary, jump and gap reels, a large assortment of lights, your high lift wing BCD, and so on. The equipment is pricey, and the list seems long, and professionals know having full redundancy is what keeps you alive during high risk diving. So what about your BCD?

The only thing between you and out of control is your BCD.
This is the weak link that few of the divers ever think about.

Any experienced diver can experience total catastrophic buoyancy or drysuit failure as quickly as you scrape against a piece of ship wreck steel. Those few pounds of fabric, and plastic parts are not as tough as you think when it's dark and cold inside a wreck or cave. Diving in a wetsuit, or diving without buoyancy control means your pinned to the bottom and you might just end up there forever if you cannot swim your rig back to the surface. If you have a drysuit, some luck, and the right skills, you might use your drysuit  as a buoyancy back up, but now you don't have too!

STAINLESS STEEL BACK PLATES
Both The Twin Wing and Eagle Z1 Tech model can be used with internal plates to increase stability and ballast weight for cold water & drysuit diving without affecting the center of gravity. Our unique Eagle design allows most brands of standard technical diving 15" length Stainless steel 5 pound plates to be used internally to eliminate abrasion on the air cell cover. This unique BCD design also allows the comfortable back pad to still be used. There is no ridged steel against your spine & drysuit causing pain.
